Attach weight and lower tape. Chalk the tape as it descends (you can use a sock filled with chalk). When the tape is reeled in, check for the spot where chalk has washed off. This shows actual depth or water level. Quality construction with wood handles, brass frame, and tape with etched markings. Order weight separately. Requires the 450g stainless steel weight.
